Registering a New Business
Posted by: takeitallaway in Ako Ito!, Kapalaran, Myoozings, Trabaho, tags: businessBoth my ADB contracts will end November 30 but one of my officers allowed me to report only once a day every week. UP teaching job is also over for this sem. My house will be finished (hopefully) by end of October — I let the contractor do all the work and I just plan to visit it every other day to check.
Basically I am free most of the week so I’ve started again to look for other things to do. Last year when my contract with ADB ended, I was able to finish my thesis and obtained my MS degree (wheeee, after 7 years!), I helped Nanay to acquire the Faiview property, and put up a corporation with 2 colleagues.
I refrain myself from sending out my CV because the jobs I had for the past years made me accept that working in the corporate world is not my destiny. I am starting to feel a calling to apply my technical and practical experience to entrepreneurship. With the anticipated free time and the uncertainty of a new contract with ADB, I decided to embark on starting my own business.
STEP 1: Business Name Registration - everything is just a click of a button nowadays. For single proprietorship businesses, go to DTI’s website and for corporations, go to SEC’s website. The business registration guide of DOST’s Technology Resource Center is also very useful.
Update: I reserved the business name using DTI’s online facility. Immediately after submitting the required information, I got the confirmation email and list of required documents. The approval for the business name came after 3 days.
I can either go personally to DTI Makati or book for courier service. I opted for the courier sevice because the pick-up and delivery charge is only P180.00 pesos! All I needed to do was call (02) 855-8424 and Chino, the person-in-charge, will arrange for Air21 to do the rest. I called last Friday and as of writing time, the documents are yet to be picked-up. DTI registration, by the way is P300.00 pesos.
